How To Use
The Wheeler Sunpredictorâ„¢ is an extremely powerful,
yet simple to use hand-held sun prediction program. It instantly calculates the position of the sun
for any date and time anywhere in the world.
The following step-by-step instructions will quickly get you started in using the application.
Creating A New Location
- Tap the "Location" tab
- From the menu tap "Location > New"
- Enter a name for the location in the top edit field
- Select the appropriate "Time Zone" for the location from the list
- Input the longitude and latitude for the location by either:
- Using a Connected GPS Receiver:
- Configure the GPS settings
- Turn on the GPS receiver (if applicable)
- Tap the "GPS" button
- A dialog like the one to the left will appear
- When a position has been acquired the dialog will close automatically
- The latitude and longitude values will automatically be filled in the appropriate fields
- Manually Entering the Values:
- Tap the Up/Down arrows next to "Lat" and "Long" to increment/decrement the values
- Or use the on-screen keyboard (Soft Input Panel) to enter the values
- From the menu tap "Location > Save"
Predicting The Sun
- Tap the "Prediction" tab
- Select the date that you require by:
- Tapping the arrow next to the date field to display the pop-up calendar
- Or using the on-screen keyboard (Soft Input Panel) to enter the date
- Make a prediction for a particular:
- Time
- Tap the Up/Down arrows next to the time field to increment/decrement the time
- Or use the on-screen keyboard (Soft Input Panel) to enter the time
- Or "drag" the hands on the analog clock
- Compass Bearing
- Tap the Up/Down arrows next to "Brg" to increment/decrement the bearing
- Or use the on-screen keyboard (Soft Input Panel) to enter the bearing
- Or "drag" the sun along its path on the graphic display
- Or tap the bearing graduation on the graphic display
- Angle of Elevation
- Tap the Up/Down arrows next to "Elev" to increment/decrement the elevation
- Or use the on-screen keyboard (Soft Input Panel) to enter the elevation
- Or "drag" the sun along its path on the graphic display
- Or tap the elevation graduation on the graphic display
- When any of the parameters are changed the other parameters and the sun path graphic
display are automatically updated
Changing The Settings
- From the menu tap "Tools > Settings"
- Tap the checkbox to control the status of the "Splash Screen" at start up
- Select your preferred bearing format from the "Brg Type" list
- If you have a connected GPS receiver, select the appropriate "Accuracy", "Port" and "Baud" settings
